How often do I need to clean my air conditioner filters?

If the unit is used often, the filters should be checked once a month and cleaned when needed to ensure unrestricted airflow.

How often should I clean my cassette toilet?

Clean and grease all seals on the toilet and cassette tank regularly with petroleum-free grease or silicone-based spray. If the toilet is used frequently, clean monthly or after 3-5 drainings of the cassette.

TIP: When cleaning your toilet, do not use any cleaning agents that are abrasive or contain chlorine or alcohol. Use a mild colourless cleaning agent if you’re cleaning the toilet bowl regularly.

Can I use only silicone to install my RTS150 solar panel to the roof of my RV?

The RTS150 solar panel should be installed onto the roof of your RV using aluminium brackets. This will ensure that there is a suitable gap between the rooftop and solar panel to allow for airflow, so that the solar panel can achieve maximum performance during high temperatures. The brackets should be installed onto the roof of your RV using silicone and screws to ensure it is properly secured.


How do I ensure the longevity of my Dometic awning?

To preserve the integrity of your awning, retract your awning during prolonged rains or high winds. It will take a few minutes to retract but will ensure that your awning does not get damaged and require replacing.


Do I need to defrost my portable fridge?

Defrosting is typically unnecessary for short-term use, such as a long weekend. For extended use, it may be advisable depending on humidity levels and how many times per day you open the fridge. If ice build-up on the interior walls reaches ~3 mm, a defrost is recommended to maintain good refrigeration performance. To defrost your CFX, simply turn it off, disconnect the power, open the lid and wipe out once the ice has melted.

TIP: If your fridge position allows, simply remove the drain plug and wipe the water out via the drain hole.

What does it mean if the error light flashes on my CFX?

If the error light flashes on your CFX when running in your vehicle, firstly check if your unit runs on 240 V AC. If your CFX runs faultlessly on 240 V AC then you will need to check you have adequate wiring in the vehicle. Inadequate wiring is often the cause of your fridge/freezer not being able to run properly. A minimum of 6 mm heavy-duty wiring is recommended to ensure there is adequate voltage to your CFX fridge/freezer. This can be solved with the Dometic CoolPower RAPS12R-U2 wiring kit or a visit to an auto electrician.

Does the RAPS44 get a full charge when charging in the car?

The RAPS44 is supplied with a charge cable that fits your standard automotive 12 V accessory socket, or the Dometic RAPS12R-U2 (recommended). This will provide a small charge to the RAPS44 while driving, however it is designed primarily to keep the RAPS44 “topped up”, not to re-charge the battery.

If you need the RAPS44 recharged, a DC to DC in vehicle charger (rated at 10 A or less) will be required as these typically provide 7 A or more as a charge rate. Alternatively, you can use a 240 V smart charger (with automatic cut out) at home to recharge the RAPS44 via the charging posts.
